Straw Works, the leading UK company for strawbale building and design, has launched the School of Natural Building (SNaB) in Todmorden following an increase in demand for their training courses.
Natural materials include strawbales, timber, lime, clay, hemp, sheepswool, woodfibre board, brick, stone and other materials. Many are plant based materials, usually wi.th low-embodied energy because they are not very processed and often available locally. Continue reading

Sowerby Bridge and Todmorden wards are on the Department of Energy & Climate Change list of areas where households and social housing landlords will be eligible for Carbon Saving Community Obligation Support under the upcoming Green Deal. This means that households won’t have to repay the full costs of installing energy saving measures.

Here’s WY Metro info that The free bus service has been extended to 29th June for all journeys on Hebden Bridge services A, B, C. D & E and Todmorden services T1, T2, T3, T4, T5 T6, T8 & T9, FlexiBus services 1 & 2 and service 906, because of the recent poor service during the transition from the Tyrer Bus contract.
