Join This is Rubbish at Parliamentary launch of Counting What Matters on May 15th!
This is Rubbish are heading to Parliament on May 15th to launch Counting What Matters, their recently completed Report into ways of reducing food industry waste.
This is Rubbish say,
“We have some great guest speakers, and are excited to share our findings surrounding research into industry perceptions surrounding the introduction of a Mandatory Food Waste Audit (MFWA) mechanism.
Hebden Bridge Town Partnership Action Plan launch on May 18th
Hebden Bridge Town Partnership is a group that includes representatives of Calderdale Council, the town and parish councils, local businesses, and community and voluntary organisations. A registered charity, its aims and objectives focus on promoting “the environmental economic and social regeneration of Hebden Royd and the four adjacent parishes of Blackshaw Head, Erringden, Heptonstall and Wadsworth.”
It is launching the town Action Plan, 2020 Vision, on Saturday May 18th in Hebden Bridge Town Hall.
The event starts at 10am and continues to 3pm and you are welcome to drop in at any time. There will be a series of workshops throughout the day on particular topics and themes. The full timetable for the day will shortly be on the HB Town Partnership website.

Hebden Royd Primary School children plant small orchard
On Monday 29th April, Hebden Royd Primary School gardening club planted 16 apple trees at the edge of their sports field on King Street.
Incredible Edible Mytholm and Incredible Farm in Walsden organised the tree planting. The trees were grafted and grown on the farm, so they are ideal for the Upper Calder Valley climate. Mrs June Evans, a Hebden Royd Primary School teacher who runs the gardening club, helped the children with the planting, along with some parents and Nick Green, Helena Cook and Mike Smith from Incredible Farm.
